Just for Fun! Chicago

Went to see Chicago at Vina Robles in Paso last night. Yes, they were that good. No, I have no excuse for not going to see them sooner. They were one of my favorite bands in High School during the 1970's. Sadly, I'll be missing my 40th high school reunion on 9/16 because Sue is having back surgery on 9/15. Oh well, that's life.

Proud to see that many of these "oldie" bands (like Chicago) have pulled themselves together into rock powerhouses again. 3 original members are stillin the band that started out in 1967 with the silly name "The Big Thing", followed by their first album under the name "Chicago Transit Authority" (until the Chicago Transit Authority made them change it!), and finally just our beloved CHICAGO. Way to rock the house, gentleman! Original members from 1967 that are still in the band (and played last night):
Robert Lamm – keyboards, vocals
Lee Loughnane – trumpet, guitar, percussion, vocals
Walter Parazaider – woodwinds, backing vocals
My hat goes off to the original crew that still is somehow cranking it out every night: Robert, Lee and Walter, as well as the newer "stand ins" who are working hard to be able to keep up with the old guys!! Hope you enjoy these amazing photos. Wish you were there.
